Smart Safety & Security in Putrajaya
Smart Safety & Security underpins residents' trust and quality of life in Putrajaya by deploying an integrated, technology-driven public safety architecture. This domain is anchored by the Putrajaya Command Centre (PCC) — operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — which serves as the real-time command and coordination hub for all safety-related incidents across the city.
The PCC integrates over 420 IP-based CCTV cameras, panic button networks, License Plate Recognition Systems (LPRS), and emergency communication systems into a unified Video Management System (VMS). Multi-agency coordination — encompassing the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Civil Defence Force (APM), Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), and Perbadanan Putrajaya enforcement teams — is managed through structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) activated from the command centre.
Inclusive safety features such as OKU (Persons with Disabilities) communication modes and community awareness programmes ensure that Putrajaya's safety infrastructure serves all community segments equitably. This domain contributes to the MSCF Smart Living component by creating a safe, inclusive, and resilient urban environment.
